七夕

７月（がつ）７日（か）は七夕（たなばた）の日（ひ）です。
生徒（せいと）のみんなで、願（ねが）い事（ごと）を書（か）いた短冊（たんざく）を笹（ささ）の葉（は）に飾りました。
みんなの願（ねが）いが叶（かな）いますように。

July 7th is Tanabata Day.
All the students wrote their wishes on strips of paper and hung them on bamboo leaves.
May everyone's wishes come true.

七夕（たなばた）とは：
七夕（たなばた）とは、7月（がつ）7日（か）に祝（いわ）う日本（にほん）の伝統的（でんとうてき）なお祭（まつ）りです。
織姫（おりひめ）と彦星（ひこぼし）が1年（いちねん）に1度（いちど）だけ、天の川（あまのがわ）で会（あ）える日（ひ）という神話（しんわ）にもとづいています。
七夕（たなばた）には、「短冊（たんざく）」と呼（よ）ばれる紙（かみ）に願（ねが）い事（ごと）を書（か）いて笹（ささ）の葉（は）に吊（つ）るします。

What is Tanabata?:
Tanabata is a Japanese traditional festival celebrated on July 7th.
It is based on the myth that Orihime and Hikoboshi are allowed to meet on the Milky Way just once a year.
On Tanabata, people write their wishes on pieces of paper called "tanzaku" and hang them on bamboo leaves.
