■ National Health Insurance / Bicycle Insurance
·National Health Insurance
Health management is important at your study abroad. National Health Insurance is a system that subsidizes the medical expenses paid at the hospital in case of injury or illness. Please be sure to join it. If you do not join it, you will have to pay the full cost of treatment.
At Sagami International Academy, we help you to apply for National Health Insurance when you register as a resident at the ward office (city hall).
National health insurance tax (insurance premium) is calculated based on the income of the previous year. If you do not have income immediately after coming to Japan, it will be reduced. When you join, you will also apply for reduction.
・ Bicycle insurance
Bicycle insurance is compulsory in Kanagawa Prefecture and Sagamihara City. In recent years, the number of traffic accidents involving bicycles and pedestrians has increased. Serious accidents have also occurred, and in some cases the perpetrators are required to pay a large amount of damages. If you use a bicycle, please be sure to subscribe in case of damages. There are several types of insurance. For details and consultation, please contact the office.
